Just another week in the Great Seminole First area. Hey Y'all, I hope this past week has been great for y'all. Hopefully y'all have some great plans for General Conference, a missionary equivalent of the Super Bowl. This week started out really well. On Monday we were able to have a good lesson with our friends the Brownell Family. That was super nice since it had been 2 weeks since we met with them last. Casey had been reading the Bible though and understands that the fall of Adam and Eve was a positive thing. We are going to meet with her tonight. I am excited to see them. On Tuesday we were also able to go play basketball. One of our members comes every Tuesday and plays basketball with a whole bunch of nonmembers. They are all very kind though and I am excited to keep going and improving my ballin skills. We also had a lot of good lessons with our friend Aloicious. He is someone we met about 7 weeks ago. We saw him a few weeks ago and have now had 3 lessons with him. ...
Weekend of a lot of miracles. Hey y'all, I hope it has been a good week for y'all. This week has been pretty crazy. A lot of good things are starting to form and I am excited to see how they turn out. The first crazy miracle is there is this lady named Alli that I met right about the time I first got to this area. On Tuesday we were able to give her a Book of Mormon and by Saturday she had read the entire book. She also really opened up to us and we were able to figure out some of her concerns. I am excited to see how it goes for her. We also had a good lesson with our friend Eli as well. As we talked with him. He told us that a week before we met him he had the thought he should get baptized. It was amazing that the Lord put us in the path to help him. We were also able to commit him to the 15 step program. He was scared for a bit that he couldn't give up coffee, but he then said that he would. I was so proud of him. We also had a good visit with someone named Aloicious....

Week of miracles. Hello Y'all, I hope it has been a great week for Y'all. Things are going pretty well here. We have been able to see a lot of miracles and setbacks recently. On Tuesday we were able to remember 9/11. We were biking to go finding and  it just so happens that we were going to the beach which we haven't done in a while and we found a 9/11 memorial. It is sad to think about what happened. I do not remember seeing the towers fall, but it is important to remember. It was such a cool memorial. We also met a man who stopped us and asked us for the address to the church since he hasn't been in a year and a half. It was a tender mercy to be at the right place at the right time. One of the coolest miracles that happened this week is we were able to find a new family to teach. The dad's name is Eli and his son's names are Kendrick, Sa, and Kaleo. We were able to simply teach them about the Holy Ghost and invite them to church. They were planning on coming...

Finding for days. Hey y'all, I hope you are doing well. Things are pretty normal here. Just the regular 90° weather as it has been for the past 6 months. This week we were able to see a lot of miracles though. On Tuesday we had a great district council. We learned about the importance of the Sacrament. After that we were trying to download some videos for some of our older friends to watch and did that at the family History Center. While we were there, the family history center Terry got a call from a man named John who was needing some help and the family history consultant said that they were going to get in contact with us. We were then able to go and stop by John and found out he is disabled and needed some help. We were able to refer him to the ward. I am glad that we were in the right place at the right time to get to try to help him. Another miracle that happened this week is that one of the members of the Bishopric invited us to help his neighbor weed her yard on Wednesda...

Sophia's baptism!!! Hey y'all, I hope you are doing well. We are doing pretty well here and had an eventful week. Of course the most exciting thing this week was helping Sophia prepare to, and eventually get baptized this weekend. We were able to have 2 lessons with her this week and by the last lesson you could tell that she believed what we were telling her. It was an amazing experience for me as well. I can definitely see how the Atonement has worked in her life. She has changed quite a bit from the first time I met her. Her baptism was amazing as well. She had sooo many people from the ward come to attend the baptism. It was amazing to see those come to support her. One of my favorite parts of the baptismal service was when her 2 younger brothers sang I am a child of God. It was so cute.  She just seemed radiant afterwards. I am excited to keep in touch with her. We also were able to teach some pretty cool new people as well. One family we were able to teach was Joel and...
Zone Conference!!! Hey Y'all, I hope things are going well for you. Hopefully adjusting to having school back in session is going well. This week was amazing. We started off by having a lesson with Kenny. He is doing well. We were able to show him the 20 minute restoration video. That is my favorite restoration video of them all. I would suggest that any of you that haven't watched it recently watch it in the near future. Both Kenny and Curley understood it, but they are still not too comfortable praying around us. Hopefully we can change that though. We also had a good lesson with the Brownell family. We were able to talk about the Book of Mormon and how it goes hand in hand with the bible. I am excited to go back and teach them more soon. We also had an awesome zone conference. This zone conference was focused on a lot of different topics. My favorite trainings were from the assistants to the president. They taught about unity with our companion and how to best use our time...

Arc specifications for the Seminole 1st Ward.  Hey y'all, I hope things are going well for you. Things have been pretty hectic here. There were a lot of miracles that happened this week. One of the biggest miracles has been with Sophia. We have been able to have 3 lessons this week and they all seemed to go well. We have been able to set another date with her for August 31st. This time I feel that it will happen though. We set up a baptismal calendar with her so that she could see when she would receive the different lessons and when she would get baptized. We let her choose all of the dates and she is excited to have us come over now. We also had an awesome lesson with her last night. We were able to explain a bit more about the Book of Mormon, the role of Jesus Christ and the Resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:22 is a great scripture that talks about this), and the 10 commandments. She was super accepting and is just awesome. I am sooo excited that Heavenly Father gave me the chance ...
