Still in North Port Hello Everyone, I hope things are going well for you this last week. Hopefully pioneer day was fun for all of you. So on Tuesday we got transfer calls and I am staying in the North Port area with Elder Arima. That was good to hear. There are a lot of good people here that I am excited to teach or members that I want to get to know better. This week we had a lot of Member meals of people wanting to say goodbye to Elder Loy. Brother Collins gave him a belt buckle and a belt to go with it when we had dinner with him that were pretty cool. Then on Thursday, Elder Arima had to drop him off in Venice since Elder Humphries was also heading home. He was a great missionary and I learned a lot from him. Hopefully things go well for him at BYU-Idaho. If any of you run into him up there, say hi for me. Elder Arima also had a good lesson with a man named Rocky. We met him last week and taught him this last week. He is super humble. and I look forward to meeting with him ag...
Transfer calls tomorrow. Hello Everyone, I hope that everyone is doing well. I know that if you do everything in the Lord's name, that He will bless you for that.   Well things are going ok here in Florida. We had to stop teaching Mike this week. We taught him the word of wisdom and he did not take that very well. He even returned the Book of Mormon that we gave him. That was sad because I know that the Book of Mormon can bless everyone's lives. We just need to be willing to read it every day and then they will bless their lives.   Elder Arima and I also went on exchange with the zone leader Elder Hall today. He is a very bold missionary and really cares about the gospel. I learned that I need to be more bold because of him. We went and taught one of the recent converts in the area and also laid down 8 pallets of Sod for the Bishop. That was a lot of work and a lot of fun.    We also had a good dinner yesterday at the Polak's. They gave us homemade Ice cream and Lasa...

1 month in Florida Hello everyone, I hope this last week was as good for you as well for you as they are here in North Port. I also hope that this next week is just as good as well.   Well, things are going pretty well here. This week we stopped teaching Giovannie. That was kind of sad. We were able to teach Mike again this week. He is going through a rough situation right now. We are trying to help him see the blessings that the gospel can bring into his life in these hard times. Hopefully he is understanding what we are teaching him.   We also went on a split with Elder Collins this week. He is 85 and the ward missionary leader and is an awesome person. He came with us to a lesson we had in Arcadia and was able to share some really cool insights about the chapter we had with a recent convert there.   Elder Arima and I also went on an exchange with Elder Dicke. Elder Dicke is from Utah and is a quiet missionary. He has a lot of experience and is really good at usi...

Happy 4th of July   Hello everyone. I hope things are going well for you in whatever you are doing. I also hope that your fourth of July was fun. It sounds like things are going well for those who I have been able to hear from.   Well, things are going well here in the North Port Area, for our fourth of July, we had a pancake breakfast which was cool. They had a color guard that was really impressive and we also had our new friend (new term for investigator) Mike come to the breakfast. That was really cool. We were also going to go to a freedom festival that is much like the one back in Richfield but it rained right before it started so that didn't work.   When it rains here in Florida, It pours. From Wednesday to Friday, it rained every day for 2 hours and we had to take shelter to be out of the rain and lightning. It is cool to watch the rain and lightning. It is a bit terrifying when lightning sounds like a gunshot. I know that the Lord is protecting the mission...
We got a new investigator! Hello everyone, I hope things have been going pretty well for you wherever you are. Have fun at whatever you do for the Fourth of July.   Well things are going pretty well here in Florida. One of the big changes that the church just made is they released a new edition of Preach My Gospel. There are a lot of good changes in there from small things to entire new paragraphs or sections. It has been kind of cool to see those changes in personal and companionship study. One of the big changes is that there are no more investigators anymore. Investigators are now people being taught or friend which I think is pretty cool and will make our job easier as missionaries.   At the beginning of the week I got to go on my first exchange in the mission field. Elder Arima and I went to Venice Florida with Elder Humpries. Each of Elder Humpries appointments fell through both days so we just did a bunch of finding instead. One interesting fact is that we got to see th...
