We got a new investigator!

Hello everyone,

I hope things have been going pretty well for you wherever you are. Have fun at whatever you do for the Fourth of July.

Well things are going pretty well here in Florida. One of the big changes that the church just made is they released a new edition of Preach My Gospel. There are a lot of good changes in there from small things to entire new paragraphs or sections. It has been kind of cool to see those changes in personal and companionship study. One of the big changes is that there are no more investigators anymore. Investigators are now people being taught or friend which I think is pretty cool and will make our job easier as missionaries.

At the beginning of the week I got to go on my first exchange in the mission field. Elder Arima and I went to Venice Florida with Elder Humpries. Each of Elder Humpries appointments fell through both days so we just did a bunch of finding instead. One interesting fact is that we got to see the airport where the terrorists in the 9/11 learned how to fly. That was cool and also scary at the same time.

So this week our friend Giovannie is doing pretty well. He is down to smoking only one or two cigarettes a day instead of ten so that is good. Hopefully this week he can be completely done with smoking. We also found a new person to teach this week. Her name is Shernesa. She is black and has 4 cute little kids. We have been trying to teach her a lesson with her for the last couple weeks, but it never seemed to work out. Then yesterday, we saw some people at the lake where a lot of people fish and we saw her there. That was a miracle. We then were able to teach her part of the Restoration lesson and that was good.

I also had specialized missionary training on Friday. That was a lot of role plays and basic training of things I learned at the MTC so that was ok. The cool part was that we got to go to downtown Tampa to go contacting. I went with Elder Loy and Elder Galland which was pretty fun. We found one person to potentially be taught by the missionaries so that was cool.

Other than that, it was just like any other week here in the North Port area. We are having a Fourth of July pancake breakfast this week though so that should be fun. We should have a lot of people we either contacted or are teaching be there so that will be fun. Everyone have a great week.

Sincerely,

Elder Bryan Beard
