Pray for Brandy Hey Y'all, I hope things are going well for you. We had a pretty good week. I hope that things go well for you and that you enjoy whatever else you have going today. The start of the week was good since it was my birthday on Tuesday. I celebrated by giving a training at district council about planning a birthday party and going to a sushi buffet. It was an awesome time. My siblings sent me a great package full of tattoos and other fun party stuff. Elder Leavitt and I had a lit party that night. One thing that has been cool recently is we are meeting with our friend Stephen almost daily and reading the Book of Mormon and it has been going really well. He said that he got more out of our first time just reading the Book of Mormon with him than the entire time he had been meeting with missionaries before. Our friend Brandy is also doing well. We haven't with her a lot this week and she is ready for baptism. She wasn't able to make it to church yesterday becau...

Dear Brother and Sister Beard, Thank you for sharing your wonderful missionary with all of us here in the Florida Tampa Mission. All too quickly (for us) the time is here to make plans for Elder Beard return travel home. The departure date is set for May 27, 2020. In order to schedule flights at the best rates available, in the next seven days, could you please let us know the closest large airport to your home? Please email this information to Sister Briggs at 2011220@churchofjesuschrist.org. I will meet with Elder Beard before the day of departure for a final interview. Then, on the evening prior to departure, Sister Hollingsworth and I will have the opportunity to have dinner and a testimony meeting in the mission home with all departing missionaries. Missionaries are released from service by their Stake President upon returning home. This is usually in the stake from which they were called unless the family has moved and their records are transferred to another stake. The miss...

Happy President's Day Hey y'all Happy President's day. I hope you all do something fun to remember good ol' President Washington's and President Lincoln's birthday. I know there will be cupcakes here at least for that reason and others. This last week went pretty well. On Tuesday we started off by going to district council. This week I had everyone give a 5 minute training on a specific section of a talk about how to become a consecrated missionary. It was super uplifting to see everyone's different teaching style and insights. Then later that day I went on Exchange with Elder Gottfredson. It was a fun time. We went over to Stephen's and we were able to help him learn a little more about how gratitude and humility work together. That was good. Then Tuesday we had a good evening with the Plumbs. The Plumbs are a senior couple serving a mission in the Dade City ward as well. We took them to go to a lesson with a recent convert named Masey. She just had a...

Zone Conference and second Date set. Hey Y'all, I hope things are going well for you. Things are really going well in this ward. I can definitely see baptisms in the next week. On Tuesday we were able to help the Beeman's move out. They were a super nice older couple who should hopefully be in their new home in Michigan now. We got there a little before they did with the Uhaul truck and so when we saw them pull around the corner with a 26 foot truck and saw that we were the only ones there let's just say "we were seized upon by some power which entirely overcame us." Turns out though that the only reason they got such a big truck is all of those size trucks are either here in Florida and Arizona because of all the snowbirds. It was a pretty good load and they took us to golden corral afterwards so it was all worth it. Then later that day we went over and met with Sandy. When we went over the first time she was gone and so Brother Mitchell, one of the members wh...

Miracle Week! Hey Y'all I hope things are going pretty well for y'all this past week. This week has definitely been amazing here. To start off, on Tuesday we were able to have an awesome lesson with our friend Stephen. We brought our ward mission leader Brother Harrington and tried again to help him answer his concerns about the Restoration. He thinks super deeply about everything in his life and so it is bringing a lot of anxiety. At the end Elder Leavitt was able to discern his need and invited him to pray to feel the Holy spirit and then sit and block out any thoughts except that and promised him that if he did that he would feel the spirit. As we left Brother Harrington said that that was the most powerful lesson he had ever been to since joining the church and he comes to a lot of lessons. I am glad that the Lord was willing to work through our imperfect vessels to bless him and Stephen in that way. Then the next day we went and visited Sister Gilbart. We were able to sh...
