First Full week in Florida Hey guys,   I hope things are going well for you in whatever you are doing. It has been good to hear from those that I have been able to.   Well, things are going pretty well here in Florida. Things are slowly progressing here in the North Port area. We also cover the Peace River Branch which is a huge area. The branch meeting house is about 70 miles away from where we live. We went and taught a lesson in Arcadia there this week which is about 50 miles away. It was to a lady named Melinda who seemed to really like the lesson we taught her. She even said yes to a baptismal date. So we tried going back on Friday and tried to teach her again and long story short, after she didn't answer and we went to a member's house, she called the cops and when we tried to talk to her with the sheriff, she told us "I ain't got an appointment with no one." That was sad.    Other than that, there hasn't been a lot that has happened. We have been trying...

First week in Florida Hey guys, So it's my first week here in Florida. It started out with me flying for the first time. That was fine except for the landing which was rough for me. I also got to call home and talk to my Family so that was a blast. Then I got to meet my mission President. His name is President Cooper so that was cool. We went to his house and had Hawaiian haystacks. They were really good. We then had some trainings and interviews and those were fun too. I then got to meet my trainers, Elders Arima and Loy. Both are really cool. Elder Arima is from Las Vegas and has only been out 3 months. Elder Loy is on his last transfer and is also really cool. They are both really obedient and awesome so that is cool. Then the next day we went right to work. It was really hard since it is extremely hot the entire time we are contacting and being on the Lord's errand from the time we wake up in the morning till we go to bed. It is very rewarding and I know that this is where ...

Missionary arrival 6-13-18 Dear Family,   We are happy to let you know of the safe arrival of your missionary to Tampa.  Attached is a picture of the arriving missionaries at the airport with President and Sister Cooper.  We invite you to join our Facebook Page:  Florida Tampa Mission 2016-19.  It is a group page.  You request to join, and we will accept you.  Tomorrow we will post more pictures of the new missionaries as they meet at the mission home for dinner tonight and come to the mission office tomorrow for training and to meet their companions. We look forward to serving with these great young people.  Thank you for helping your missionary prepare to serve.   Sincerely,   Sister Robinson Florida Tampa Mission Secretary
Group email week 2. Hey guys, Well, another week has passed here at the MTC. It has been really cool to learn how simple the Gospel of Jesus Christ really is and yet how profound it is at the same time.   This week was really cool. I had to say goodbye to some of my friends in our zone as they were heading off to their missions. That was sad but I know that they are going to be great missionaries wherever they serve.   I had the opportunity to go to the temple again today. I love going to the temple because I feel the spirit more strongly then than at any other time. I would encourage all of you to go to the temple if you get the chance.   One of the coolest things this week is that we had Elder Gerritt W. Gong came to speak to us at the Tuesday night devotional. He talked about 4 things that we should be excited to share every day as a missionary. One thing that impressed me is that we are not only called to teach investigators, but maybe to impact our companion or gain ...

Group email: first week at the MTC Hey guys,   I hope things are going well for you out there. It has been a lot of getting used to here at the MTC. Hopefully you are not having too much fun without me there.   Well, things are definitely different out here in the MTC. I got here last Wednesday and after everyone made it through dropping off your bags at your room and checking in. My branch president here said it is like they are trying to fill our heads with information from a firehose and that's about what it is. I am definitely learning a lot while I am here and it has definitely built my testimony in the Lord and in this Gospel. It is so simple and so profound at the same time. Hopefully I can remember it in the mission field.   My new companion is Elder Cunningham. He is from Napa Idaho and is headed to the St. George, Utah mission. He is a very kind and outgoing person and I know he will do great as a missionary.   Today we went to the 8:00 session of the Templ...
