First Full week in Florida

Hey guys,

 I hope things are going well for you in whatever you are doing. It has been good to hear from those that I have been able to.

 

Well, things are going pretty well here in Florida. Things are slowly progressing here in the North Port area. We also cover the Peace River Branch which is a huge area. The branch meeting house is about 70 miles away from where we live. We went and taught a lesson in Arcadia there this week which is about 50 miles away. It was to a lady named Melinda who seemed to really like the lesson we taught her. She even said yes to a baptismal date. So we tried going back on Friday and tried to teach her again and long story short, after she didn't answer and we went to a member's house, she called the cops and when we tried to talk to her with the sheriff, she told us "I ain't got an appointment with no one." That was sad. 

 

Other than that, there hasn't been a lot that has happened. We have been trying to go and contact a lot and have had a lot of people say no. The Lord has shown me though that it is for us to be able to be in the right place at the right time to find the people that will listen to our message. I know that we must trust in the Lord's timing since Heavenly Father knows where we need to be and when so that is one thing that has blessed my life and I know it can bless yours if you try to see the Lord's timing in your life even if it is hard.

 

We also got to teach a lesson with our one investigator named Giovannie. He is a black man that is a bit older and is a bit interesting. We went and did some service for him and also started to commit him to stop smoking. We haven't been able to meet with him again so we will see how that is going hopefully today.

Thanksgiving and Transfers!!!   Hey y'all! Hopefully Thanksgiving went well for y'all. I know that it went well for us here in the Palm Harbor area.   This last week has been full of miracles. I have gained a surety this week that Heavenly Father is aware of me and everyone and that he truly is in the details of our lives. Multiple times this week Elder Mainor and I have received promptings on where to go and miracles have occurred.   "I'LL BE HOME FOR (EASTER)" Hey Y'all,   Wow, this is it. My final weekly and final day in the Tampa Florida mission. Time really has flown by. I never thought I would get to this day. I have enjoyed every second of it though in retrospect at least.   So this week was pretty slow. We have had some good things happen. One exciting thing we have been able to do is reach out to some of the members who are less active. We had a man named Brother Mercer. He originally was a little weirded out by our call, but we were able to share a quick message with him and he wanted us to call him back. I hope Elder Memmott can help him well.   We also got to go to Tampa a few times this week which was nice. Elder Porter needed to train the next technology specialist so I got to go on a couple day exchanges with the Carrollwood Elders.
