The time I gave a talk in church

Hey y'all,

I hope that y'all were able to have a great week. Hopefully you have been able to digest the feast of knowledge we got at General Conference a little better.

This week was a bit of a slower week. We were able to have some cool miracles though. We had a lesson this Tuesday and we felt that we should invite one of the members in our ward to come to this lesson with his wife. Originally they said that they were busy with work. Brother Meyers, the man we were trying to have come with us, is an accountant and so this is a very busy time of year for him. Later he texted us and said that he would be able to come. He was great at this lesson and had an inspired challenge to give to our friend Ronald to try to notice the difference after we leave. I am excited to follow up on that the next time we meet with him.

I also had the opportunity to go on exchange with Elder Seal this week here in Seminole this Thursday. He is a newer missionary and it was awesome to watch him as we changed plans up last minute and how calm he was through all of it. I hope I can be more like that in the future.

On Friday we had another good lesson with our friend Ali. We brought Brother Newnam along which was really good. She still believes that we pretty much believe the same thing as her. We were able to talk to her about the first half of the Restoration and Brother Newnam set the stage for us teaching the Plan of Salvation in the future as well.

Then Saturday we had the chance to go to a few yard sales. The first one was to a members house who is moving soon. We showed up right at the right time. They had needed help loading boxes right at the time that we showed up. I am glad we could be a tender mercy to her. We also went to another yard sale down the beach from there and this man was selling a working typewriter for $3!!! Needless to say, I bought it. It is so satisfying to use. I am probably going to use it to write thank you letters to people.

Sunday was pretty cool too. It started out with Both Elder Austin and I both giving talks in church. Our friend Bekim went first and did a great job on his talk. Then Elder Austin did a good job talking about Dale G. Renlunds talk on not leaving any handles sticking out. Then I went last and talked about the closing remarks of Russell M. Nelson. I would invite all of you to read his talk again and to ponder the questions he poses in there. I know that you will be blessed and uplifted by doing so. Later that day we were also able to visit our friend Gary. Yesterday was the first day that he had felt well enough to have us over for quite a while. We were able to have a good conversation and I know it uplifted him.

Well, that was about it this week. I hope that y'all have a great week and God Bless!

Elder Beard

1. The best dinner Elder Austin and I made this week.

2. How would you like to wake up to this in front of your house?
