Good ol' Saint Pete
Happy New Year Y'all
It is crazy to think that it is 2020 already. Hopefully you had a good and safe holiday. I hope that the past few days have been good for you. This past week has been interesting. We have been able to see some good things come from that though.
To start out the week we had a good time on New Years Eve. On Tuesday evening, we went over to some new move ins to the ward called the Veliu family. The mom let us right in while her husband was a bit more standoffish. We were able to have a good conversation with them and show them the video "Ask of God." They enjoyed it even though they couldn't understand too much because they are originally from Albania. The next day they had us come back just so that their house was the first one that we entered into the New Year. It was cool to see that they wanted us to do that.
Then later on New Year's day we were able to go over and visit with our friend Gary. He has some health problems, but is doing O.k. We soft committed him to baptism and so hopefully we will get him there. He has some challenges to get over, but we will hopefully be able to help him with that.
Then Thursday was a really nice day. I got to go on exchange with Elder Seal in Saint Pete. It was a very spiritual experience. One cool part is we had a lesson with a girl named Elise who got baptized this last Saturday. We went over the Laws and Ordinances and it was a good lesson. She is a sweet little girl. I am glad she was able to follow the example of our Lord and Master Jesus Christ by being baptized. I hope everything goes well for her.
Then on Friday we had a good visit with the Lane Family. They are some people who were taught before that we started teaching again. We were able to introduce them to the Book of Mormon videos which was awesome. I hope they enjoy those. We also found out more about why they aren't coming to our church. They had a problem with young children being disruptive. I hope we can resolve that with them soon.
We also had a tender mercy yesterday. The Largo Sisters had found someone that they wanted us to teach and so we went over with a member who lived nearby. It turns out that she was busy, but as we were leaving we saw her husband and the member said, "That is the man who used to cut my grass." They had a good relationship and because of that, we found out that he was wanting answers to the questions "why are we here and where are we going?" It was awesome to hear that and I am looking forward to visiting with him again.
Then today we were able to go and play mini golf. I got the highest score by 15 points of the 8 who came. It was pretty fun. The place we went to had live gators so it was cool to see those.
Well that is about it for this week. I hope that this is a good week for Y'all. If there is anything we can do for you, please let me know. Until next time, good luck and God Bless!
