Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Hey Y'all,
I hope that each of you had a great Christmas this year. Things were pretty good here. Hopefully New Year's can be just as fun.
On Christmas eve we had a chance to attend a Christmas Eve party with the Gjoligu family. They had it super fun with singing classic Christmas carols, Sister Gjoligu reciting from memory twas the night before Christmas with people acting out the different parts and acting out the Nativity. It was a very fun night.
Then Christmas was a very good day. We started out by visiting Curley. We were able to show him the Geurtler story and hear about how he started his business. We also had a good visit with Sisters Gleason and White. They are still having rat problems, but the ward is definitely putting forth a lot of effort to comfort and strengthen them. It has been awesome to see how people have reached out to them.
Then for Christmas dinner we went over to the Brown's house. They had invited us and the Morris family to come and cooked bacon-wrapped Filet Mignon and smoked salmon. It was a great time hanging out with them and it was delicious food as well.
Then the rest of the week was pretty normal. We had a good visit with our friend Gary Cecil. We read Moroni 8 with him and it was awesome to see it click in his mind. We are going to help him stop smoking as well and are hopeful that it will help him quit.
We had a very interesting Sunday yesterday. The BYU swim team came and joined us for church this week. They were here for conditioning in the warmer weather and so they decided they would like to come and take over Sunday School. They bore testimony of how they have strengthened their testimonies and it was good to hear them. They had a great spirit about them. It was enough to melt even this diehard U of U fan. ;)
Well, that is about it for this week. I hope that y'all have a good time with your New Year and you have some good resolutions set for this next week. Until next year Good Luck and God Bless!!
