Date set!
Hey Y'all,
Happy Pioneer day to y'all. I hope things are going well for you. We have been able to see some cool miracles recently for which I am very grateful.
One of the coolest miracles that happened this week is we were able to set a date for our friend Sophia to be baptized. We were able to teach her about the Plan of Salvation which she had started to learn about recently and it went super well. Then at the end we talked to her about baptism and invited her to be baptized on August 3rd. I am so excited to continue to help her progress towards becoming an active member of the church because she is converted to Jesus Christ.
Another great thing that happened is we had Zone conference. This zone conference was all about how to improve our mission unity and our working with members. We were able to come up with a lot of ideas on how to help the district and it will be interesting to see how they are implemented.
Then on Thursday we were able to have a great experience with one of the members named Bekim. He had texted us on Wednesday asking if he could come out with us and we did not have too much set up for the next day. Right after that we went out and the last person we talked to in the area we went to said that we could come back the next day. Unfortunately we were not able to meet with him with Bekim, but we were able to take him to another lesson with a man named Russell. He had some great insights and is going to be a great missionary. I am excited to keep working with him while I am in this area.
Yesterday was also a great learning experience for me. We were talking to a recent convert about his struggles about giving in to some of his old temptations even though he is trying to live the gospel as best he can. We were able to share the story with 2 Nephi 4. I was able to have an experience like that later tonight. One thing I have struggled with my entire mission is companionship unity. I have gotten better though. As I have studied how to improve that, I know that Heavenly Father helped me to be able to solve some issues I had with Elder Reichner without getting contentious. I am glad that the Atonement of Jesus Christ can help us with our lives and with continuing problems such as companionship unity for as long as we try our best to improve. I will always be grateful for that and I look forward to helping people apply the Atonement of Jesus Christ in their lives. I hope y'all can have an experience doing that as well this week. Until then, I hope you have a great week and God Bless!
Elder Beard
