Happy Memorial Day!
Hey Y'all,
I hope things are going well for you. Happy memorial day to all of the veterans and families who have someone serving our country right now. I hope that y'all are enjoying your summer as well. Today it is 88 degrees outside with 59 percent humidity so it feels more like 95 degrees. Hopefully it isn't too hot where you are at. It has been an interesting week full of dropped or rescheduled appointments. We were able to see some cool miracles though.
This week I started off by going on exchange with Elder Stowe from the Hudson ward. He is a newer missionary, but he is super sincere. We were able to go to a neighborhood where I ran into one of my friends Donny who I was teaching before. He is doing well, but was still kind of lenient about meeting with us. Hopefully a few more soft touches will do it.
Then I was able to have my last interview with President Cooper. I was able to ask him some questions to help one of the people we are teaching. I am sad to see him go, but I am also excited to receive a new mission president July 1st. I also held my first district council. I was pretty nervous as I was giving my training, but it went pretty well. We were able to discuss how to help our different people. One of the missionaries in the zone went home though because of an injury and so they had to re-align the districts and I am back to being a regular missionary again. I am glad that I don't have to do as much work to train other people, but I was also excited to learn how to do that at the same time. I am sure I will be able to again some day though.
Then on Thursday I hit my Year Mark!!!!!!!! It is crazy to think that a year ago right now I was in the MTC. I was able to celebrate by having dinner at the Croft's house and then going on splits with Brother Croft. We were able to meet a cool less active member of the ward and will hopefully be meeting with him again in the next few weeks.
Then on Friday my Sister graduated from High school with a 4.0 GPA. I am so proud of her and her example. I am excited to see where she goes in life from here.
Then on Saturday we had a good lesson with Francisco. We were able to map out when we were going to teach him the rest of the lessons. I think it helped him realize he needs to make a decision soon. I am excited to see how it goes for him. If you can include him in your prayers that he can feel that this is the right church for him, that would be much appreciated.
Other than that it was a normal week. I am excited to see what this next week brings. I wish y'all a happy summer and God Bless!
Elder Beard
There is this house down the street from us that has this statue of a dinosaur in the front yard. I thought it was interesting.
