Miracle Week
Hey y'all,
This last week has truly been full of a lot of miracles. We have met a lot of cool people out here and I am excited to keep working with them.
On Tuesday I got a new companion Elder Case and he is pretty cool. He is from Meridian Idaho and has been on his mission for about 6 months now. He was serving with my old companion Elder Mainor and my trainer Elder Arima before that so that is cool. He is very good at being bold which is nice. I am excited to learn how to invite people more boldly from him.
We have been able to do quite a bit of work with our recent converts recently. We were able to meet with Brother Gizzi and his family with Brother Croft and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It stared out a little rough, but by the end it went well. I am excited to keep working with him. We also met with Sherman again. He is really old and can't remember much of what we share with him, but he comes every week he can and is so sweet. He always has something to share with us.
We also met with Victoria. She made homemade chicken pot pie for us and it was amazing. We also had the Sanetra's over for that lesson and Sister Sanetra told us about her brother who is not a member and a near-death experience how he would listen to us if we stopped by. So we did and he and his wife are both awesome. They have questions about the church and it was really cool. I am excited to keep meeting with them. The lesson with Victoria also went very well. We shared the Plan of Salvation and she had a question about the spirit world so it tied in perfectly to what she needed. I am so glad for the spirit who guides me and helps me so much in missionary work.
Another thing that happened is we had sisters come into the ward. It is Sister Heap and Sister Bingham which is really cool since I was in their district (group) in the MTC. The ward was very excited. Bishop Fossler had them give the opening and closing prayer and introduced them during sacrament meeting and kind of glazed over Elder Case. We have met a lot of cool people who are excited for sisters.
We also had a really cool experience biking home last night. We were biking home at like 8:45 and we see someone sitting outside vaping. We decide to talk to him and it was really cool. He initially told us that he was Christian, but that God was frowning because of the choices he was making. I was able to bear my testimony about how Jesus Christ had been there for my hardest trial and how he changed me and he started to open up. He wasn't interested in learning more, but we were able to uplift his day and leave him with a king James Bible and a Book of Mormon. It was so sweet. I hope he will read it and some other missionaries will see the fruit of it some day.
Other than that it is a normal week. I am excited to keep working with those we have found in this area and helping more people as well. I hope that all of you can have a great experience sharing the Gospel as well. I know that missionary work can be as simple as wearing a CTR ring or a Youth camp shirt. I would to love of any of your cool missionary experiences. They help strengthen my testimony. Until then, have a great week.
God Bless!
